High Density Happiness: Elevating the Family Home

06 October, 2016 at 15A Union St, Brunswick.

This talk, a part of Neometro's High Density Happiness Speaker Series, focuses on building and designing apartments for long term and family living.

The evening features a panel of speakers leading the Melbourne design and development community mediated by Laura Phillips, the Editor of Open Journal, including:

Jeff Provan, Neometro
Clare Cousins, Clare Cousins Architects
Michael McCormack, Milieu Property
Nick Travers, Techne Architecture + Interior Design
Quino Holland, Fieldwork Projects

The profile of apartment dwellers in Australia has changed, no longer is an apartment a transitional point to save for the detached suburban home. Melbourne is increasingly adopting international housing philosophies where buyers now look to a lifetime of higher density living. The combined pressures of increasing property prices and congested linkages to outer suburbs is incentivising people to look to higher density living options in order to be close to the cultural and commercial offerings of the inner city.
