Nightingale 4.0 (NG4) presents an opportunity for CCA to be the developer and architect for the project, to lead and develop housing that has the quality of a single-family home with the unique amenity afforded to multi-residential dwellings. NG4 has secured a site in Brunswick alongside six other leading Melbourne architects; this world-first collaborative precinct is known as Nightingale Village. Nightingale Village has recently been granted planning approval.
The complex team of multiple architectural practices and numerous consultants is cooperating to include shared infrastructure across all buildings, and is collaborating with a community housing provider to deliver 15% of apartments as affordable housing units. Apartments are designed for a diversity of occupants and offer flexibility of living spaces following a high level of purchaser involvement and consultation. NG4 will become a sustainable new home for 25 families of varying scales, incorporating a ground floor cafe tenancy to service the local community.
