Vale Street is a newly proposed apartment building located in North Melbourne’s health precinct, a pocket which is rapidly developing its own distinct urban character.

This building consists of ten high-quality apartments over eight stories including a small café to activate the ground floor of Vale Street and provide a food offering not currently available in the area. Dual corner frontage on the south and west boundaries, in conjunction with a setback on the east, gives each apartment increased access to natural light and cross-flow ventilation which would otherwise be challenging on a 130m2 site. Textured concrete panels contrast with the smooth expressive structural grid of concrete columns and beams creating a robust interface with the compact urban context.  This material language is continued inside and blended with warm timber finishes.
